Rewind many years to elementary school: just before a friend of mine was to arrive for a play date, I was nagging to my mother about how annoying he was, and about all of the qualities in him I disliked. My mother stopped me and asked me about his good qualities. I was dumbfounded, standing there as though I had just seen an elephant give birth to an octopus...thinking to myself, "Wow...I never thought of that!! What IS good about him?". From that point on, I began exploring the upside that life has to offer, and realized I COULD never and WOULD never look back. It became addictive, but is that really such a bad addiction to have? I stopped focusing on the negative aspects of life so much (making sure of course not to completely disregard them) and shifted to a more positive perspective. I saw UNBELIEVABLE results. I began finding the unbelievable opportunities that came out of even the most depressing, devastating and flat out strange events that life had thrown my way, and have never looked back since. This way of thinking has become an ENORMOUS part of my personality, and has shaped who I have interacted with and the types of interactions which I have had and continue to have on a daily basis. We choose how we want to live our lives my friends, how will you live yours?
