Birthday Weekend Extravaganza!

For my birthday weekend I traveled quite a bit around the northeast of the US!

I went first to Atlantic City to check out the scene. I'm not much of a gambler, but must say that walking along the boardwalk and experiencing so many casinos in such a short distance from one another was quite cool!

Then I flew to Chicago for the next leg of my travels. I tried the infamous Chicago deep dish style pizza, checked out some really cool archicture, and stepped foot into a platform protruding from the building on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower. You essentially look straight down through clear glass and see how you could easily fall to your demise if the floor wasn't there. AMAZING experience. NOT for those with a fear of heights.

The bean is also an incredibly cool monument - its metallic surface bends the reflection of Chicago's skyline. Go under it and look up for a psychedelic experience ;)

I would recommend staying at the Allegro Hotel, it's stylish with an old-school feel, centrally located in the theater district and even allows pets!! What could be better than that?

The final leg of my journey took me to Columbus, Ohio. The downtown is not huge, but certainly contains more than a few things to do. Being the pizza fanatic that I am, I enjoyed trying what was voted to be Columbus' best pizza. Do NOT miss the opportunity to go to Hounddog's 3 Degree Pizza - it more than lives up to its reputation of best pizza in Columbus. NorthStar Cafe is another amazing eatery, dishing out amazing vegetarian delights, most well-known for their veggie burgers, which even meat-eaters prefer over their carnivorous alternatives.
